Mindful Yoga Movement is not the same thing as strong, physical exercise based yoga---it is a different practice with different goals. While it can help improve your fitness, the goal of Mindful Yoga is building awareness, self-regulating the nervous system, and deepening self-understanding.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IN A CLASS?

Sessions may include simple, accessible, and therapeutic yoga postures or forms, breathing practices, and mediation techniques. The session may also include visualizations, deep relaxation and suggestions for home practice.

A common misconception is that all yoga is about maximizing flexibility--it is not. Mindful Yoga is about getting to know yourself better and using various practices to help you improve your health and well-being.

Slow Mindful Yoga Movement incorporates six key processes: mindful movement, breathing practices, meditation, awareness of values/ethical engagement, spiritual development and service.
